It’s strawberry season in central Pennsylvania! On Friday evening, I went to Way Fruit Farm to pick strawberries with my friend Kara. We managed to pick a couple quarts before the storm. Afterwards, I decided getting caught in the rain was well worth it. Believe me when I say these strawberries are the sweetest that I have ever had!
This sweet little fruit is not only delicious, but nutritious too! Strawberries are packed with vitamin C, potassium, and fiber. Most people have heard that vitamin C helps to keep the immune system running smoothly. But did you know that during the hot days of summer, it is important to replenish electrolytes like potassium? You lose electrolytes more rapidly through sweating. Last but not least, fiber helps you to feel full and satisfied with meals while promoting regular bowel movements. So get out there and start picking!
